Given Scales Mound's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 28th in Illinois, while Belleville is ranked 112th in Wisconsin), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Scales Mound got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Thomas Hereau out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 10 rebounds. The contest was Hereau's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jonah Driscoll, who scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds.
Scales Mound's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Belleville, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Scales Mound will head out on the road to face off against Pecatonica at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Belleville, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Darlington at 7:30 p.m.
