Western Christian is a perfect 5-0 against Calvary Chapel since March of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Fighting Lancers will head out on the road to challenge the Grizzlies at 2:30 p.m. Western Christian will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Western Christian came out on top against Southlands Christian on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Fighting Lancers put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 12-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Fighting Lancers, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Kayden Quiroz made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Aryana Munoz was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Giada Partida was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one run.
Western Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southlands Christian only posted a batting average of .211.
Meanwhile, Calvary Chapel fell victim to Capistrano Valley Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 11-0 to the Eagles. The Grizzlies have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.
Western Christian's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Calvary Chapel, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.
Everything went Western Christian's way against Calvary Chapel when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Western Christian made off with a 17-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Fighting Lancers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
