The Hannah-Pamplico Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight defeat. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 65-40 walloping at the hands of Latta. Hannah-Pamplico found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 30 to 16 on offense.
Despite the loss, Hannah-Pamplico still got an impressive performance from Jayla Graham, who scored 34 points along with seven rebounds. That was a full 85% of Hannah-Pamplico's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Latta's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shawniza Bethea, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which Bethea has scored at least a third of Latta's points. Another player making a difference was Kardae Mcfadden, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Hannah-Pamplico dropped their record down to 3-18 with that defeat, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Latta, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season.
Hannah-Pamplico won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Lake View at 6:15 p.m. on February 7th. Lake View will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something Hannah-Pamplico surely won't give up without a fight. Latta does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
