Basketball Recap: Lee Central Extends Winning Streak to Four

Lee Central had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 42 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They put the hurt on the McBee Panthers with a sharp 62-36 victory. The Stallions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 26 points or more this season.

Leading Lee Central to victory were Serenity Williams and Ke'Myra Dennis. Williams almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine steals, while Dennis went 8 of 18 en route to 20 points and six steals. Williams' evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Reames, who posted eight points.

Lee Central has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.9 points per game. As for McBee, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-6.

Lee Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 58-51 defeat against Powdersville on the 18th. As for McBee, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the McBee Panthers face off against the Lewisville Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
