Jameson Connolly was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Kanata Barber was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Joey Facilla, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, Mountlake Terrace didn't have quite enough to beat Kamiak on Tuesday and fell 3-2. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Mountlake Terrace also got a good showing from Max Everitt, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Everitt has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Mountlake Terrace saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cian Harney, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Shorewood's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Mountlake Terrace, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
Mountlake Terrace's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Shorewood hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324. It's a different story for Mountlake Terrace, though, as they've only averaged .221. Will they be able to contain Shorewood's hitters?
Shorewood beat Mountlake Terrace 6-2 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Stormrays since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
