Strasburg has gone a perfect 5-0 against Byers recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. Strasburg is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
Bennett hit Strasburg with a five-run sixth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Indians fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 11-10. That's two games in a row now that the Indians have lost by just one run.
Gavin Welch was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Houston Browski, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Bennett hit Byers with a five-run seventh inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulldogs lost 9-3 to the Tigers. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost six in a row.
Byers saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Earl, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Earl is becoming a predictor of the Bulldogs' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 2-7 when he doesn't).
Strasburg's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Byers, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Strasburg has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Byers struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Strasburg was able to grind out a solid victory over Byers in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 10-6. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
