The Concord Raiders''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 45-6 loss at the hands of Delaware Military Academy. Concord has struggled against Delaware Military Academy recently, as their contest on Thursday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Delaware Military Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Odell Teel, who rushed for 54 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 41 yards and a touchdown on only three passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Saalem Frink, who rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Concord's defeat was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 6-2 Milford and 9-3 Archmere Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 65% over those games). As for Delaware Military Academy, their win bumped their record up to 4-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Concord will take on Caravel at 10:30 a.m. on October 28th. Caravel will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. As for Delaware Military Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Newark at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Delaware (Newark is ranked 27th, while Delaware Military Academy is ranked 19th).
