Despite the loss, Mitchell saw an underclassman step up: Addy Bowlin scored 12 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kate Pieper, who scored 12 points along with two blocks.
Bridgeport's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Olivia Loomis-goltl, who scored 19 points along with four steals. Loomis-goltl hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tacey From, who scored 14 points along with six steals.
Mitchell's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-10. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.2 points per game. As for Bridgeport, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mitchell will take on Pine Bluffs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pine Bluffs is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. Bridgeport will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hershey at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th.
