Athens Academy moved up to 278 from 314 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in A Region 8. The Spartans were able to move up by beating George Walton Academy 35-21.
Hebron Christian Academy lost to Commerce 48-12 last week, the largest margin of any game.
The Lions' Conner Holliday and Jacob Harper led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Holliday has thrown for 1,310 yards this season, while Harper has 33 catches for 574 yards. Stanley Williams from the Bulldogs leads the league in rushing with 757 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Pinecrest Academy takes on Prince Avenue Christian. As it stands, the Paladins are in third, while the Wolverines are in first.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Pinecrest Academy takes on Prince Avenue Christian. The Paladins have allowed 145 points this season, while Jeff Herron's team has given up 87.
Athens Academy made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,233 from 8,406. The improvement was largely due to a 35-21 victory over George Walton Academy last week.
