Brady Firley's Chambers/Wheeler Central girls basketball program took one of Adyson Mlnarik's best shots a week ago, and lost. Averaging 13.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 3.6 steals and 0.8 blocked shots during a 3-0 start to the Bobcat season, Mlnarik nearly produced the Cornhusker State's first girls triple double of the year in Summerland's 66-27 win over Chambers/Wheeler Central last Friday.
The 22 point, 10 rebound, eight assist, four steal and one blocked shot performance in the 39-point win allowed Mlnarik to claim the top individual girls basketball performance early on in the Cornhusker State.
Olivia Hansen of Maywood/Hayes Center took the No. 2 spot with a 20 point, 12 rebound, eight assist and two steal performance in a 61-42 triumph over Southwest while Malcolm's Halle Dolliver posted 18 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, eight steals and three blocked shots to earn the No. 3 rung during a 60-35 victory over Plattsmouth.
Jocelyn Hightree of Homer was credited with a 20 point, 10 rebound, five assist and three steal performance in a 70-57 win over Winnebago to claim the No. 4 spot while Hampton's Lillian Dose rounded out the Top 5 with 16 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and six steals in a 67-36 triumph over McCool Junction December 2.
Classes C1, C2, D1 and D2 are all represented in this week's Top 10. But plenty of Class A and Class B athletes are off to fast starts as well. Omaha Benson's Zakiyyah Mohammed led Class A with her 13-point, 19 rebound, one assist, two steal and four blocked shot performance in a 51-49 loss to Omaha North while Tarryn Godsey of Class B Nebraska City put forth a 15 point, 13 rebound, one assist, four steal and two blocked shot effort in a 31-25 win over Ralston.
In order to be considered for this week's Top 10, an athlete had to produce a double-double and compete at a high level in another category. The statistics used for this week's Top 10 were pulled from MaxPreps' statistics database Thursday evening.
