The 2019-20 high school basketball season concluded earlier than expected but at least 30 states crowned state champions and postseason honors are certainly in order.
We're doing our part by recognizing a player of the year in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
Team success, individual statistics and local, regional and national honors were among the factors considered in deciding on our POYs.
The postseason awards continue next week (Wednesday, March 25) as we roll out our annual MaxPreps All-American Team.
AlabamaAveraged 25 points and eight rebounds per game to lead the Spartans to the AHSAA Class 7A state title game. Headed to Xavier.
Alaska

Arizona

Arkansas

California
Averaged 31.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and five rebounds per game to guide the Crew to the No. 7 spot in the Top 25 national rankings.
Colorado
Averaged 24.5 points, 13.3 rebounds, six assists, 3.4 steals and 2.7 blocks per game to lead the Coursers to the Class 3A state quarterfinals. Headed to Colorado.
Connecticut
Averaged 24.8 points, 16.7 points and 6.5 blocks per game to lead the Rams to the Division II state tournament before postseason play was canceled.
Delaware
Averaged 16.2 points, six rebounds and two assists per game to lead the Warriors to the state semifinals before postseason play was canceled. Headed to Providence.
District of Columbia
Surpassed 2,000 career points this season, leading the Eagles to the Class AA state title. Headed to Michigan.
Florida
Averaged 13.9 points, 6.4 assists and 4.2 rebounds per contest to lead the Eagles to the top spot in the national rankings. Headed to Oklahoma State.
Georgia
Averaged 17.3 points, 8.4 assists, 8.2 rebounds and 3.2 steals per game to lead the Rams to the AAAAAAA state title game. Headed to Mississippi State.
Hawaii
Averaged 14.1 points, six rebounds and 2.8 assists per contest to lead the Warriors to the Division I state title game.
Idaho
Averaged 19.7 points and 12.4 rebounds to lead the Lions to the Class 5A state title. Bolt scored a career-high 35 points in the state finals. Headed to Boise State to play football.
Illinois
Averaged 22.5 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game to lead the Dolphins to the Class 4A sectional finals before postseason play was canceled. Headed to Duke.
Indiana
Averaged 18.5 points per game to lead the Panthers to an unbeaten record before postseason play was suspended. Headed to Indiana.
Iowa
Averaged 36.4 points per game to lead the Warriors to program's first state title. Headed to Northern Iowa.
Kansas
Averaged 24.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per game to lead the Jaguars to a berth in the Class 5A state tournament. Headed to Drexel.
Kentucky
Averaged 20.2 points and 11.2 rebounds per contest to lead the Tigers to a 22-9 record. Headed to Louisville.
Louisiana
Averaged 19.7 points, 9.9 rebounds, 9.2 assists, 2.6 blocks and 2.2 steals per game to lead the Hornets to their fourth consecutive state title. Headed to Virginia.
Maine
Averaged 26.3 points, 7.7 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game to guide the Broncos to the Class A state title.
Maryland
Averaged 17.7 points and 10 rebounds per game to guide the Stags to the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference regular season and tournament championships. Headed to Michigan.
Massachusetts
Ended his career as Phillips Academy's all-time leading scorer with 1,514 career points. He averaged 21 points per contest as a senior. Headed to Penn State.
Michigan
Averaged 32.4 points, nine rebounds, three assists and 2.2 steals per game to lead the Railsplitters to a 19-3 record. Made national headlines finishing with 63 points and 21 rebounds in a 108-102 double overtime win over Chelsea.
Minnesota
Averaged 22.7 points per game to lead the Red Hawks to the No. 13 spot in the Top 25 national rankings. Headed to Gonzaga.
Mississippi
Averaged 26.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.9 steals per game to lead the Chargers to first state title since 2015.
Missouri
Averaged 26.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, three assists and 2.5 steals per contest to lead the Cadets to the Class 5 state semifinals before postseason play was canceled. Headed to North Carolina.
Montana
Became Hellgate's all-time leading scorer with 1,782 points, leading the Knights to an unbeaten record. Headed to Utah State.
Nebraska
Averaged 22.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game to lead the Mustangs to the Class A state title game.
Nevada
Averaged 30.4 points, 9.1 rebounds and 8.4 assists per game to lead Coronado to a 19-9 record. Produced a 62-point game in which he led his team back from a 21-point deficit.
New Hampshire
Averaged 23 points per game during the month of February, including a season-high of 30 points. Grijalva guided Exeter to a 20-1 record before state playoffs were canceled.
New Jersey
Averaged 14.3 points, 11.1 rebounds and 5.3 blocks per contest to guide the Lions to the Non-Public B championship game before postseason play was canceled.
New Mexico
Averaged 19.9 points, 3.3 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game to lead the defending state champions back to the 5A state tournament.
New York
Averaged 26.5 points, eight rebounds, 5.3 assists and 2.1 steals per game to lead the Crusaders to the CHSAA Archdiocesan title. Headed to North Carolina.
North Carolina
Averaged 23 points, seven assists, seven rebounds and 2.5 steals per contest, leading the Cougars to first state title since 2006.
North Dakota
Averaged 28.4 points and 11.1 rebounds per game to lead the Bluejays to Class A state semifinals before postseason play was canceled. Headed to North Dakota State.
Ohio
Averaged 27.3 points, 11.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.8 steals to lead Walnut Ridge to its first City League championship game since 1971. Headed to Kent State.
Oklahoma
Averaged 25 points and six rebounds per game to lead the Hornets back to 6A state tournament. Headed to Kansas.

Rhode Island
Broke the all-time state scoring record with 2,568 career points. Led Shea to the second round of the Division I state tournament. Headed to Bryant.
South Carolina
Became Dorman's all-time leading scorer with 1,874 career points. Tate averaged 14.9 points, 5.5 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game to lead the Cavaliers to their fourth consecutive state title. Headed to Butler.
South Dakota
Became Class AA all-time leading scorer with 2,125 points. Committed to Wisconsin.
Tennessee
Averaged 23.2 points, 14.2 rebounds and 8.7 blocks per game to lead the Lynx to the Division II Class A state title.
Texas
Averaged 26.1 points, 13.2 rebounds, 3.5 blocks and 2.1 assists per game to lead the Vipers to the 6A regional quarterfinals. Finished his career with over 3,000 points.
Utah
Averaged 22.9 points, 7.8 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game to lead the Silverwolves to 6A state title. Headed to BYU.
Vermont
Hit the game-winning shot in the Division 1 state championship game. Eclipsed 1,000-point mark in January.
Virginia
Oak Hill Academy's all-time leading scorer averaged over 30 points per game to lead the Warriors to the No. 6 spot in the Top 25 national rankings.
Washington
Averaged 22.7 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and two blocks per game to guide O'Dea to the 3A state title game.
West Virginia
Averaged 18.9 points, 9.3 rebounds and two blocks per game, leading Huntington Prep to a 22-9 record against a difficult national schedule. Headed to West Virginia.
Wisconsin
Averaged 24.2 points, 11 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game to lead the Chargers to Division 1 state quarterfinals before postseason play was halted.
Wyoming
