MaxPreps 2019-20 High School Sports Photos of the Year

We take a look back at the most spectacular photos from the 2019-20 high school sports year as captured by members of the MaxPreps Professional Photographers Network.

Photographers in the network submitted images for consideration from pro galleries on MaxPreps that were published between September and March. The sports year was halted in March due to COVID-19 with only some baseball and softball games played since in two states.

The submissions were pared down to the 15 of the best images from the sports year. The final photo highlighted is from the first high school baseball game played on June 15 in Iowa — which had delayed the start of its season by about three weeks because of the shut down.
