The Hawks dominated the competition all year and capped the season off by upending East Lansing 57-36 in the

MaxPreps' National Rankings!
MaxPreps and the Michigan Army National Guard joined forces in celebrating Heritage girls basketball at a school assembly in Heritage's gymnasium where the coveted Army National Guard national ranking trophy awaited the Hawks. Quite an impressive piece of hardware, the trophy is presented to only ten girls basketball programs from across the country.
After congratulating head coach Vonnie DeLong and the Hawks on an outstanding basketball season, Sergeant First Class Davonta Barnes of the Michigan Army National Guard presented DeLong with the Army National Guard national ranking trophy. SFC Barnes also spoke about dedication, teamwork, pursuit of excellence and commitment to a cause greater than oneself, shared character traits of a state championship basketball team and the Army National Guard.
Along with the trophy, SFC Barnes presented the Hawks with commemorative Tour of Champions t-shirts and a nationally ranked rafter banner to commemorate their state championship and the No. 18 national ranking. Coach DeLong and her staff were appreciative of the recognition and thanked both the Army National Guard and MaxPreps for their support. Congratulations Heritage on your second state title and Top 20 national ranking. Well done! Click
