Upper Arlington (Columbus) boys basketball team is off to a 10-0 start after beating Coffman (Dublin) 53-52 last Friday.
Brian Sullivan made a fadeaway jumper from the baseline with 17 seconds left and also blocked a shot on defense with 3.5 seconds to go to help seal the victory. He finished with 29 points.
TOP PERFORMERS* Jordan Marrow, Cleveland JFK boys basketball: The junior guard scored a career-high 30 points to lead the visiting John F. Kennedy boys basketball team to a 92-76 victory over Shaw (East Cleveland) on Saturday.
* Kyle Roddy, Brecksville-Broadview Heights (Broadview Heights) wrestling: Roddy beat West Branch (Beloit) senior Adam Lamancusa 4-3 in the championship match at 160 pounds to lead Brecksville to its third consecutive Bill Dies team tournament title last Saturday with 200.5 points. Lamancusa was the defending individual champ at 160.
* Malina Howard, Twinsburg girls basketball: Howard finished with 24 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Twinsburg girls basketball team to a 69-42 victory over Myrtle Beach (S.C.) in the Classic in the Country last Saturday at Hiland (Berlin).

Clay (Oregon). The host Eagles are the defending champion after scoring 251 points to win last year's tournament.
* Jackson (Massillon) at Hoover (North Canton) boys basketball, Friday: Jackson, which is ranked fifth in the Division I state poll, should have its hands full when it travels Friday to Hoover (North Canton). While the Polar Bears are 9-1, the Vikings are off to a 7-3 start.
BRIEFLYReynoldsburg track coach Denny Hammond recently received the 2011 Fred Dafler Girls Career Coach of the Year honor from the Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches. The Raiders' girls track team has won the last two Division I state titles and has had 10 individual champions since 1999. …
Firestone (Akron) sophomore Katie Miller was a part of three meet-record performances at the seventh-annual Northeast Classic swimming and diving meet last Saturday in Canton's C.T. Branin Natatorium. She set the record in the 100-yard butterfly and 200 freestyle and also swam on the meet-record 200 medley relay.
