Video: Xcellent 25 football rankings presented by the Army National Guard
The midwest and the northeast regions each have a new No. 1 team in this week's MaxPreps regional football computer rankings.
Wayne takes over the top spot in the midwest from Colerain, which saw its season end with a loss to St. Xavier in the Ohio Division 1 playoffs.
Meanwhile St. Joseph Regional moved ahead of St. Joseph's Prep in the northeast. Both teams are still alive in postseason play in their respective states.
The rest of the No.1 teams in the three other regions remained the same with IMG Academy No. 1 in the south, Mater Dei No. 1 in the west and Allen No. 1 in the southwest.
The regional rankings are based on the MaxPreps National Football Computer Rankings, presented by the Army National Guard. For the purposes of these rankings, the country is broken down into five regions:
West: California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Hawaii, Alaska and Montana.
Southwest: Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma,and Texas.
Midwest: North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota.
South: Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C.
Northeast: Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Delaware and Vermont.
