Tommy Acosta of
Capistrano Valley (Mission Viejo) is this week's MaxPreps California High School Football Player of the
Week. Acosta received more than 48 percent of the total voting.
The junior quarterback ran for 204 yards and two scores along with 121 yards
passing on 14 of 20 and two touchdowns in a 42-19 win over Aliso Niguel
(Aliso Viejo). For the season, Acosta has thrown for 1,019 yards on 99 of 162 passing and 13 touchdowns against five interceptions for the 7-0 Cougars.

Orland: Senior running back ran for 246 yards and four touchdowns on six carries in a 79-0 win over Oroville.

Hunter Babb,
Caruthers: Senior had 243 yards rushing and five touchdowns on 12 carries in a 55-16 win over Parlier.

Johnnie Brannon IV,
Jesuit (Carmichael): Senior had 239 all-purpose yards with a punt return for a touchdown along with a 49-yard pick-six in a 34-6 win over Franklin (Elk Grove).

Jaden Jefferson,
Cathedral (Los Angeles): Freshman quarterback was 17 of 17 passing for 342 yards and three touchdowns along with 87 yards rushing and three more scores in a 56-0 win over Crespi (Encino).

Ryder Lyons,
Folsom (Folsom, Calif.): Sophomore quarterback was 23 of 33 for 411 yards and four touchdowns in a 42-21 win over Oak Ridge (El Dorado Hills). He added another score on the ground with 29 yards rushing.

Michael Mitchell Jr.,
Archbishop Riordan (San Francisco): Completed 18 of 22 pass attempts for 273 yards and five touchdowns in a 55-41 win over Bellarmine College Prep (San Jose).

Matthew Moreno,
South Hills (West Covina): Senior running back had 284 yards rushing on 32 carries and six touchdowns in a 54-41 win over Don Lugo (Chino).

Wayshawn Parker,
Grant (Sacramento): Piled up 380 yards and five touchdowns on the ground in a 65-14 win over River City (West Sacramento).

Diego Recio,
Central Valley (Shasta Lake): Ran for 280 yards and four touchdowns on 37 carries in a 44-38 loss to West Valley (Cottonwood).

Wyatt Simoni,
St. Bernard's (Eureka, Calif.): Tallied 142 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries on 24 carries in a 28-26 win over Segerstrom (Santa Ana). He added 12 tackles, four tackles for loss, two forced fumbles and two recoveries along with a 65-yard fumble recovery for a score.

Parker Threatt,
Bellarmine College Prep (San Jose): Senior quarterback completed 17 of 22 pass attempts for 234 yards and three touchdowns while adding 111 yards and three TDs on the ground in a 55-41 loss to Archbishop Riordan (San Francisco).
