The New Diana Eagles were the 31-27 winner over the East Texas Homeschool Sports Chargers when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. New Diana fell just short of East Texas Homeschool Sports by a score of 63-60. That's two games in a row now that New Diana has lost by exactly three points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East Texas Homeschool Sports to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ethan Gallant, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds. Those 17 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Mason, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for New Diana and nudges their season record down to 7-8. As for East Texas Homeschool Sports, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-4.
New Diana will head out on the road to face off against Hughes Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for East Texas Homeschool Sports, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Tyler HEAT at 8:15 p.m. on January 9th. Tyler HEAT is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
