The top two teams in MaxPreps Texas Top 25 Football Rankings secured comfortable Week 6 victories.
The No. 1 Katy Tigers breezed to a 56-7 win over Taylor (Katy) while No. 2 DeSoto also had an easy time, defeating Timberview (Mansfield) 61-7.
Two previously-undefeated teams weren't as fortunate, however, and dropped out of the Top 25 after losses.
Former No. 12 Fort Bend Bush (Richmond) was beaten by Fort Bend Austin (Sugar Land), 31-14. Midlothian, last week's No. 21 team, saw its five-game winning streak come to an end at the hands of Mansfield, 49-35.
Undefeated Bell (Hurst) and 4-2 Martin (Arlington) make Top 25 debuts this week.

Senior running back
Adam Taylor turned 14 carries into 171 yards and four touchdowns in the Tigers' 56-7 takedown of 0-6 Taylor (Katy). The Tigers totaled 477 yards while committing no turnovers and only two penalties. Up next is a chance for the school's 500th victory when the Tigers meet 4-2 Seven Lakes (Katy) on Friday.
2. DeSoto 6-0 (2)
Junior quarterback
Desmond White accumulated 356 yards (255 passing) and Oregon commit
Dontre Wilson punched in four touchdowns from close range as the Eagles steamrolled 3-3 Timberview (Mansfield) 61-7 to take sole possession of first place in District 7-5A. On Friday the Eagles host 5-1 Midlothian, coming off its first defeat.
3. Steele (Cibolo) 6-0 (4)
Breylann McCollum threw for 147 yards and three touchdowns in a 54-14 drilling of 3-3 King (Corpus Christi). Junior
Justin Stockton rushed for 123 yards and a score for the Knights. On Friday Steele faces a road game against 2-4 South San Antonio.
4. North Shore (Houston) 6-0 (3)
Micah Thomas'
1-yard run with 30 seconds remaining gave the Mustangs a thrilling
31-24 victory over 6-1 Memorial (Port Arthur). North Shore, down by a
touchdown in the fourth quarter, tied the score on Kevian DeLeon's
97-yard kickoff return with 6:23 remaining. Up next for North Shore is a
District 21-5A road trip to 1-6 Sterling (Baytown) on Saturday.
5. Coppell 6-0 (5)
The Cowboys held an opponent to single digits in points for the fourth time in six games in a 29-3 triumph over 3-3 Hebron in a District 5-5A opener. The Coppell defense limited Hebron to 75 total yards and seven first downs and even got into the scoring act with a safety. Next up is a road game at 3-3 Flower Mound on Friday.

6. Allen 5-1 (6)
Kyler Murray rushed for two touchdowns and completed 17-of-18 passes for 147 yards and another score in a 56-0 thrashing of 4-1 Plano East in a District 10-5A opener. Allen, coming off a loss to Coppell followed by an open week, scored 14 points in each of the four quarters. Up next is a home game on Friday against 3-3 Plano West.

7. Abilene 7-0 (7)
The Eagles rallied from a 17-14 halftime deficit to down 4-2 Lee (Midland) 31-17. The win gives Abilene a 5-0 record in District 2-5A.
Marcell Porter rushed for 180 yards and quarterback
Evin Abbe threw for two scores and ran for another. The Eagles host 4-2 Monterey (Lubbock) on Friday.
8. Carroll (Southlake) 5-1 (8)
Quarterback
Kenny Hill, a Texas A&M commit, parlayed five carries into 127 yards and four touchdowns in a 63-7 mauling of 2-4 Richland (North Richland Hills). Hill threw for 277 yards and two scores for the defending Class 5A Division I state champion. Up next is a showdown for the District 4-5A lead against 5-1 Northwest (Justin). Both teams are 3-0 in district play.
9. Bowie (Arlington) 5-1 (9)
Sophomore quarterback
Tony James, who began the season as a backup, threw for 171 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 102 yards and two scores in a 42-0 waltz over 1-5 North Crowley (Fort Worth). The Vols defense limited North Crowley to 94 yards and only six first downs while forcing seven punts. On Friday, Bowie takes on 3-3 Lamar (Arlington) in a District 3-5A contest.
10. Westfield (Houston) 6-0 (10)
Senior
Emmitt Raleigh rushed for 289 yards and seven touchdowns in a 55-35 romp over 1-5 Spring. Raleigh went over the 1,000-yard rushing mark for the season and now has 18 touchdowns. Up next is a District 13-5A road game Saturday against 1-5 Klein Oak (Spring).
11. Skyline (Dallas) 5-1 (11)
The top team in the Dallas ISD rode the passing arm of
Devante Kincade to overwhelm 1-5 Pearce (Richardson) 57-14 in a District 9-5A contest. Kincade, an Ole Miss commit, threw for four touchdowns (three to Oklahoma State pledge
Ra'Shaad Samples). Next for the Raiders is a Saturday game against 0-6 Sunset (Dallas).
12. Dawson (Pearland) 6-0 (13)
James White, a Texas A&M commit, helped the Eagles improve to 3-0 in District 24-4A with a 238-yard rushing performance in a 41-14 victory over 3-3 Goose Creek Memorial (Baytown). Up next is a return trip to Baytown on Friday, this time to face 4-2 Lee.
13. Mesquite 7-0 (14)
The Skeeters became one of handful of Texas teams to reach seven wins, thanks to a brilliant night from quarterback
Alex Cooper in a 56-41 shootout win over 4-3 Horn (Mesquite). Cooper completed 26-of-35 passes for 429 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 92 yards and three scores. Mesquite is the designated the road team against 2-4 rival North Mesquite on Friday.

14. Trinity (Euless) 4-2 (15)
The Trojans permitted 2-4 Nimitz (Irving) only 21 yards and three first downs in a 51-0 blanking. Meanwhile, the Trinity offense racked up 319 rushing yards and opened a 44-0 halftime lead. The Trojans will attempt to win their 49th consecutive district game when they meet 6-0 rival L.D. Bell (Hurst). Both teams are 3-0 in district play.
15. Smithson Valley (Spring Branch) 6-0 (16)
Quarterback Garrett Smith rushed for 68 yards on only five carries and completed his first nine passes in a 35-7 thumping of 1-5 San Marcos. The Rangers scored on their first four possessions. On Friday, Smithson Valley will tangle with 4-2 Judson (Converse) in a key District 25-5A match.
16. Port Arthur Memorial 6-1 (17)
Senior quarterback
Ricky Fisk threw for 328 yards and two touchdowns and
John Leday returned a punt 53 yards for a score but it wasn't enough in the Titans' last-minute 31-24 loss to No. 3 Galena Park North Shore (Houston). After an open date, the Titans face Sterling (Baytown) on Oct. 26.
17. Clear Creek (League City) 7-0 (18)
Kaliq Kokuma's 42-yard touchdown run with 1:04 remaining capped a comeback that gave the Wildcats a 48-41 victory over 1-5 Dickinson. Clear Creek tied it with 4:50 remaining on a 46-yard run by C.J. Green. After an open date, the Wildcats will face Clear Brook (Friendswood) on Oct. 26.
18. Manvel 5-1 (19)
Shane McCarley threw for 275 yards and five touchdowns (giving him 12 in two weeks) as the Mavericks cruised to a 48-0 rout of 2-4 Dobie (Houston). On Thursday, Manvel takes a road trip to 0-6 Pasadena in a District 22-5A contest.
19. Midway (Waco) 6-0 (20)
Xavier Hailey's 63-yard run on a fake punt helped the Panthers pull off a difficult 42-32 road victory over 4-2 Copperas Cove.
B.J. Kelly rushed for 210 yards and quarterback
Kramer Robertson completed 13 straight passes at one point. On Friday, the Panthers host 5-1 Killeen in a key District 8-5A game.
20. Lancaster 6-0 (22)
Nick Harvey rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns on only four carries in a 28-7 defeat of 1-5 Seguin (Arlington). Senior quarterback
Demarcus Ayers threw for 208 yards and two scores. The Tigers share the District 15-4A lead with Ennis at 3-0. Up next is a home game on Friday against 0-6 Lake Ridge (Mansfield).
21. Tyler 5-1 (23)
Quarterback
Greg Ward, a University of Houston commit, completed 29-of-32 passes for 382 yards and five touchdowns in a 63-14 dismantling of 1-5 Corsicana in a District 16-4A opener. The Lions next travel to 1-5 Lindale on Friday.
22. Klein Collins (Spring) 6-1 (24)
Marcus Goodson rushed for 167 yards and Tre White chipped in with 158, but it took a 35-yard field goal in overtime by Rhett Peterson to secure a 38-35 victory for the Tigers over 2-4 Kingwood. Up next is a Friday road trip to 4-1 Dekaney (Houston).
23. Lake Travis (Austin) 6-1 (25)
Quarterback Baker Mayfield helped the Cavaliers get off to a fast start, throwing for 232 yards in a 59-14 thumping of 1-6 Atkins (Austin). Lake Travis, now 3-0 in 15-5A, scored 35 points in the first quarter. Next is a visit to 0-6 Anderson (Austin) on Friday.

Junior quarterback
Colson Romano threw five touchdowns passes (three to
Aaron Dixon) and the Raiders breezed to a 77-0 wipeout of R.L. Turner (Carrollton). On Thursday, the Raiders face school district rival Trinity (Euless) for the District 6-5A lead.
25. Martin (Arlington) 4-2 (NR)
Texas Longhorns commit
Kyle Hicks rushed for 172 yards and three touchdowns and also threw two scoring passes in a 63-9 rout of 1-5 Paschal (Fort Worth). The win was Martin's fourth in a row after opening the season with losses to No. 2 DeSoto and No. 11 Skyline (Dallas). The Warriors host 1-5 North Crowley (Fort Worth) on Friday.
