Video: 1,000 yards in 2 games - Stat star Alex Huston
See highlights of the quarterback who led the nation in passing last week. The season is only two games old for Glendale (Springfield, Mo.) and already quarterback Alex Huston has thrown for over 1,000 yards - which would be an entire season for some quarterbacks.
Huston went over the 1,000-yard mark after throwing for 555 yards and seven touchdowns in a 62-28 win over Hillcrest. Huston's total is the highest reported passing yardage total reported to MaxPreps this week by the coaches who submit their statistics to the website.
Meanwhile, Huston's top receiver, Luke Montgomery, leads the country with 427 yards in two games. He had 280 yards on 16 receptions against Hillcrest.
Among the other notable performances this week include Kaylor Sullivan of Fort Bragg (Calif.). Last year, Sullivan threw eight touchdown passes in one half to tie a national record. Last week, he threw for 492 yards and seven scores in a 54-8 win over South Fork.
A pair of running backs went over 400 yards last week. Colten Fisher of Mundelein (Ill.) racked up 411 yards and five touchdowns in a 49-25 win over Larkin (Elgin, Ill.) while Donavan Switalski of East Nicolaus (Nicolaus, Calif.) had 403 yards in a 30-26 loss to Fall River (McArthur, Calif.)
