Nigel Warrior, a four-star safety from
Peachtree Ridge (Suwanee, Ga.), is known for his impeccable ability to read quarterbacks and make either pass deflections, interceptions or come up for big hits.
After months of surveying the college football landscape, Warrior will announce his ultimate read Wednesday at 8 a.m., better known as National Signing Day. The mystery will finally be over, as he plans to make his college commitment.
Quarterbacks rarely threw in the direction of Warrior, who had three interceptions and 30 tackles this season for the 8-4 Lions. He's considered the No. 4 safety in the country and No. 58 recruit overall, according to
247Sports.
The recruiting site's Crystal Ball thinks Warrior will end up picking the University of Tennessee over three other front-runners. That selection is based largely on the fact Warrior's dad, former NFL Pro Bowler Dale Carter, attended Tennessee.
Warrior, a 6-foot, 186-pound senior, had 162 career tackles over three high school seasons and 34 games. He added nine interceptions 11 pass deflections and four fumble recoveries.
