
With the conclusion of California's postseason, a national champion has been crowned.

The final state championships of the season provided some movement in the final Xcellent 25 National Volleyball Rankings presented by the Army National Guard, as Presentation (San Jose), Palo Alto and Cathedral Catholic (San Diego) all moved up after winning state titles.

Volleyball playoff bracketsPalo Alto climbed to the No. 11 spot after beating Marymount (Los Angeles) 3-2 while Presentation fell in right behind at No. 12 following a 3-2 victory over La Costa Canyon. Cathedral Catholic topped Albany and moved from No. 41 to No. 32.
Marymount moved up one spot to No. 19 thanks to its Southern California regional final upset win over previous No. 14 Los Alamitos. The Griffins dropped to No. 20.
