21. (25) Carlisle (Martinsville, Va.), 7-1
The Chiefs solidified their place among the nation's elite by topping then-No. 3 Huntington St. Joseph Prep (W.Va.) 72-67 on Thanksgiving Eve, getting a double-double from star sophomore 7-footer Thon Maker.

22. (23) Apple Valley (Minn.), 2-0
Behind the play of future Duke Blue Devil Tyus Jones, the Eagles put up 85 and 86 points, respectively, in double-digit wins over Edina and Minnetonka last week.

23. (NR) Etiwanda (Calif.), 4-0
The Eagles – ranked in the preseason Top 10 nationally by multiple media outlets – breezed through the Inland Empire Invitational last weekend, beating Centennial (Corona) 69-58 in the final. Next up is a trip to the Windy City to take on Tyler Ulis and Marian Catholic (Chicago Heights) at the Chicago Elite Classic.

24. (3) Huntington St. Joseph Prep (W.Va.), 7-1
The Fighting Irish hold on to a spot in the rankings despite losing to Carlisle. They responded Saturday with a 127-37 win over Miami Valley (Dayton, Ohio).

25. (24) Blue Valley Northwest (Overland Park, Kan.), 0-0
Blue Valley Northwest opens Dec. 10 at Bishop Miege (Shawnee Mission, Kan.).

Tough to leave out: Corona del Sol (Tempe, Ariz.), North Little Rock (Ark.), Wenonah (Birmingham, Ala.)

Dropped out: No. 8 preseason La Lumiere (LaPorte, Ind.); No. 10 St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.); No. 14 Plano West (Texas)
