CAMERON PARK, Calif. -- The San Francisco 49ers, USA Football and MaxPreps have announced a date for High School Football Media Day, which will spotlight high school football student-athletes and coaches throughout Northern California. The Media Day will take place July 22 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
Coaches and players from local high school football programs will participate in organized media sessions focusing on their upcoming seasons, summer workouts and team goals and expectations. Media sessions will include opportunities for one-on-one breakout interviews.
Players will also be introduced to USA Football's medically endorsed Heads Up Football program — including Heads Up Tackling demonstrations and equipment fitting with USA Football representatives — plus an on-field photography session.
"The San Francisco 49ers are one of the world's great sports franchises. Their excellence extends from their great on-field tradition to their outstanding work in the Bay Area community," said MaxPreps President Andy Beal. "MaxPreps is thrilled to be a part of High School Football Media Day in partnership with the 49ers and USA Football."
USA Football is the official football development partner of the NFL and its 32 teams. USA Football trains more high school and youth football coaches combined than any organization in the United States.
"Supporting high school coaches and student-athletes with standards rooted in the best available science is a powerful catalyst for a better sport and football experience," USA Football CEO and Executive Director Scott Hallenbeck said. "We're pleased to partner with the 49ers and MaxPreps to acknowledge these athletes and coaches for their commitment to excel and enjoy the sport."
The list of participating schools and a schedule for the day will be shared with local media before the event.
