Breaking down the national contenders heading into the 2018-19 season.

Last month, we released our Top 25 Preseason basketball rankings and now it's time to dig deeper and take a look at the 100 best high school basketball programs heading into the 2018-19 season.

Five states — California, Texas, Georgia, Florida and Pennsylvania claim nearly a third of the field. The Golden State leads the way with nine teams, a slim lead over the Lone Star State's eight. The Peach State has the third most with seven teams represented, while the Keystone State and Sunshine State each have six teams.

Ohio and New Jersey are the only other two states to have at least five teams selected, with the WCAC conference with five top 100 programs as well.

The Eagles begin this season where they finished last season — on top. Coming off an undefeated season that culminated with a record-breaking fourth GEICO Nationals title, Montverde has reloaded and appears to be the deepest team in America. Led by top-50 prospects Precious Achiuwa, Cade Cunningham, Moses Moody and 2019 Florida commit Omar Payne, look for the Eagles to continue their dominance on high school basketball.

2. Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.)
Early indications are that this is the best Warriors squad in quite some time. Spearheaded by the top guard in the class of 2019 Cole Anthony, highly coveted 2019 center Kofi Cockburn and top 60 2020 guard Cameron Thomas look for the Warriors to be a serious contender for their second GEICO Nationals crown.

3. IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.)
Led by 5-star prospects — 2019 North Carolina commit Armando Bacot Jr., 2019 Arizona commit Josh Green, 2019 Villanova commit Jeremiah Robinson-Earl and 2020 guard Jaden Springer — the Ascenders will be a force this season. Look for their December trip to the City of Palms Classic to tell us a lot about this ultra-talented group.

4. University (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.)
The Sharks are coming off their best season in school history, finishing 2017-18 ranked No. 2 in the MaxPreps Final Top 25 national rankings and finishing runner-up in their first GEICO Nationals. Future projected NBA lottery picks Scottie Barnes and Vernon Carey Jr. will return poised to lead University to another historic year.

5. Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.)
The defending CIF Open Division state champions return four starters from last season, making them heavy favorites to repeat. A pair of 7-foot transfers also provide a new dynamic to a team led by returning seniors Terren Frank, Kenyon Martin Jr., Scotty Pippen Jr. and Cassius Stanley.

6. DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.)
The Stags return all five starters from last season, beginning with the same national rankings they ended 2017-18. 2020 5-star Hunter Dickinson, 2020 4-star Earl Timberlake Jr. and 2019 Villanova commit Justin Moore will once again be catalysts for a very talented DeMatha team looking to repeat as WCAC tournament, Alhambra Invitational and Maryland Private School state champions.

7. Sunrise Christian Academy (Bel Aire, Kan.)
Sunrise Christian Academy will enter with their highest expectations in school history after finishing 23-2 last season and knocking off perennial powerhouses Oak Hill Academy, La Lumiere and Findlay Prep. Third team MaxPreps Sophomore All-American N'Faly Dante will be the anchor for a talented group projected to make their first GEICO Nationals appearance.

8. La Lumiere (LaPorte, Ind.)
Led by MaxPreps Junior All-American honorable mention selections Keion Brooks and Isaiah Stewart, look for the Lakers to be a serious contender on the national circuit this season. A deep and talented team will be in search of their fourth consecutive GEICO Nationals bid just, two years removed from their only prestigious event title.

9. McEachern (Powder Springs, Ga.)
Will the Indians finally get over the hump this season and capture their first state championship? A senior laden group, led by 2019 Auburn commit Isaac Okoro and 5-star 2020 guard Sharife Cooper faces a daunting national schedule, competing in top-notch national events — Bass Pro Tournament of Champions, Cancer Research Classic, City of Palms Classic and Spalding Hoophall Classic.

10. Imhotep Charter (Philadelphia)
Imhotep Charter has been dominant over the last two seasons, winning back-to-back PIAA Class 4A State championships and finishing third and 11th in the nation, respectively. Four of five starters return for the scrappy Philadelphia Public League program that has put themselves on the map with their stifling defense.

11. Paul VI (Fairfax, Va.)
The Panthers return seven major contributors from last season's team that finished WCAC regular season play undefeated. A deep group will be led by a talented trio of guards — 2019 Virginia Tech commit Anthony Harris, 2021 Trevor Keels and 2020 Jeremy Roach — return to power Paul VI again this season.

12. Guyer (Denton, Texas)
2019 Oklahoma commit De'Vion Harmon and 2019 Michigan commit Jalen Wilson — co-MVPs of District 6-6A last season — look to power the Wildcats to their first state title. Tagged as favorites to capture the UIL 6A Texas state crown, there's a huge target on Guyer's back this season.

13. Shadow Mountain (Phoenix)
Shadow Mountain will again be powered by their elite guard play. 2019 Grand Canyon commit Jovan Blacksher and 2019 Arizona State commit Jaelen House look to navigate the Matadors to their fourth consecutive state championship. In what may be head coach Mike Bibby's last hurrah with Shadow Mountain, expect the Arizona powerhouse to continue their incredible streak of 70 consecutive wins against Arizona opponents.
14. Norcross (Norcross, Ga.)
Last season the Blue Devils fell just one game short of winning the GHSA Class AAAAAAA state championship, falling to a Meadowcreek team they'd beaten in all four previous meetings. This year, their elite guard tandem of 5-star 2020 guard Brandon Boston and 2019 USC commit Kyle Sturdivant will guide Norcross through a loaded slate of games.

15. Rancho Christian (Temecula, Calif.)
Rancho Christian will look to bully their way to the CIF Open Division title, behind the unstoppable Mobley connection down low. Regarded as the top player in the junior class, Evan Mobley is destined for a monster year beside his brother, 5-star 2019 USC commit Isaiah Mobley. Mix in backcourt depth and you have a serious contender on the national stage.

16. Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.)
The Pilots are now on their sixth different head coach in the last eight seasons. A dominant program that has never missed the GEICO Nationals event will have a challenging road back this year. Look for 2019 TCU commit P.J. Fuller and promising 2021 big man Zachary Clemence to be critical to the perennial powerhouse's success this season.

17. Ranney (Tinton Falls, N.J.)
The Panthers will be favorites to capture their first New Jersey tournament of champions crown this season behind their dynamic duo of 5-star seniors — Villanova commit Bryan Antoine and Florida commit Scottie Lewis. Look for late-season showdowns with McEachern and Montverde Academy to provide a terrific barometer of just how good this group is on a national scale.

18. Belleville West (Belleville, Ill.)
Coming off their first state title in program history, the Maroons will be heavy favorites to repeat. Led by 2017-18 Illinois Gatorade Player of the Year and 2019 Ohio State commit E.J. Liddell, Belleville West will have a ton of experience returning, with all five projected starters being seniors.

19. Gonzaga Prep (Spokane, Wash.)
The Bullpups are coming off a 26-0 season that culminated with their second state championship in school history. They return four of five starters from last year, led by Associated Press Class 4A Player of the Year and 2019 Gonzaga commit Anton Watson.

20. Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas)
The Gaels may be the most dominant modern-day dynasty in high school basketball. Gorman captured its seventh consecutive state title last season and returns a very strong core to make them massive favorites for their eighth straight. 2020 forward Isaiah Cottrell anchors the paint while a talented quartet of guards will man the backcourt.

21. Federal Way (Wash.)
The Eagles established themselves as one of the top basketball programs out of the Evergreen State, going 105-8 over the last four years with back-to-back state title runs in 2014-15 and 2015-16. This season, Federal Way may have its most talented team in program history, led by top 5 class of 2019 prospect Jaden McDaniels and a talented crop of experienced transfers.

22. South Garland (Garland, Texas)
The Colonels fell short of the UIL Class 6A state championship last season, losing in overtime in the state semifinals. South Garland will again be led by its elite high major guard duo of 2019 5-star Kentucky commit Tyrese Maxey and 2019 Texas A&M commit Chris Harris Jr. Losing only one major contributor from last season, this senior-laden group will be a very tough out.

23. Mountain Brook (Birmingham, Ala.)
The back-to-back AHSAA Class 7A state champions return four starters from last season and add an impact transfer to an already loaded group. Led by first team Junior MaxPreps All-American Trendon Watford, the Spartans will be heavy favorites to capture their third consecutive state title after finishing off their challenging regular season slate.

24. Rainier Beach (Seattle)
The Vikings' roster can go 10 deep and will be led by talented Garfield transfers 2020 Marjon Beauchamp and 2019 Jamon Kemp. The Evergreen State power will be favorites to capture their fifth state title in the last eight seasons and have all the ammunition needed to make a run at their second GEICO Nationals invite in program history.

25. Roselle Catholic (Roselle, N.J.)
Class of 2019 5-star Kentucky-commit Kahlil Whitney and 2019 UNLV commit Josh Pierre-Louis are the only key returners from the New Jersey tournament of champions winner last season. While these key losses drop Roselle Catholic from being favorites to repeat, the Lions are not far off the pace with a talented crop of transfers filling in the gaps.

26. Olive Branch (Miss.)
The defending MHSAA Class 5A state champions return all but one player from last season, with an experienced rotation primed to repeat and make noise on the national scene. Led by 5-star Memphis commit DJ Jeffries, the Conquistadores take on a vicious national schedule that includes trips to the City of Palms Classic and Hoophall Classic. 27. Wasatch Academy (Mt. Pleasant, Utah)
The Tigers are under new direction this season, hiring former Lone Peak head coach David Evans to replace Curtis Condie. A strong returning core will be joined by talented transfers for this group hoping to earn their third GEICO Nationals invite in the last four seasons.

28. Gonzaga (Washington, D.C.)
The Eagles, the third WCAC team in the rankings, started strong last season, going 22-1 before stumbling late at losing eight of their last 14 games down the stretch. Led by third team MaxPreps Sophomore All-American Terrence Williams, look for Gonzaga to be in the top tier of the toughest conference in America.

29. Greensboro Day (Greensboro, N.C.)
The Bengals will again be in the national Top 25 conversation this season, as another ultra-deep roster has the perfect blend of youth and experience. Five returning seniors will play crucial roles for Greensboro Day this season, with high-major sophomores Cam Hayes, Virginia commit Carson McCorkle and Josh Taylor expected to lead the charge for the back-to-back state champions.

30. Rayville (La.)
The Hornets will return the bulk of an offense that finished 35-0 and won the LSHAA 2A title last season, including seniors brothers JaMarkus Wilson, JaMichael Wilson and cousin and Louisiana of Lafayette commit Mylik Wilson.

31. Roman Catholic (Philadelphia)
The defending PIAA 6A state champion Cahillites return three starters from last season — 2020 Lynn Greer, 2019 St. Joseph's commit Hakim Hart and Penn State commit Seth Lundy. Elite 2022 big man Jalen Duren expected to step in and make an impact from day one.

32. Carmel Christian (Matthews, N.C.)
The Cougars return three starters from last year's NCISAA 2A state championship run and added a number of key transfers as well this offseason. Carmel Christian moves up a classification this season, but will still be favorites to capture the NCISAA 3A state title behind a deep rotation that features eight FBS prospects.

33. Bishop Montgomery (Torrance, Calif.)
One of the most consistent teams on the West Coast over the past five seasons, the Knights have gone 146-15 over that span with two state titles. This season, Bishop Montgomery starts a bit under the radar, losing a handful of major contributors, but returning key senior leaders Gianni Hunt, an Oregon State commit and Montana commit Josh Vazquez.

34. Vashon (St. Louis)
The Wolverines may have the toughest schedule of any team ranked outside the Preseason Top 25, squaring off with Belleville West, Christ the King, Morgan Park, South Garland and Ridgeway, and traveling to the City of Palms Classic and Montverde Invitational Tournament. Led by 2019 Missouri commit Mario McKinney and 2020 Cam'ron Fletcher, look for Vashon to have every opportunity to jump quickly into the Top 25 with a strong start to the season.

35. Kennedy Catholic (Hermitage, Pa.)
After three consecutive PIAA 1A state titles, the Golden Eagles jumped from 1A, Pennsylvania's smallest classification, to its largest, 6A. Four returning starters, led by 5-star West Virginia commit Oscar Tshiebwe, look to navigate Kennedy Catholic through a much tougher regular season and postseason schedule.

36. Sheldon (Sacramento, Calif.)
The Huskies finished last season with an improbable run to the CIF Open Division state championship game. The deep playoff run gave a major boost to their national profile, with the majority of their talented core returning along with the additions of two players set to make an immediate impact — 2019 Long Beach commit Josh Morgan and 2020 Marcus Bagley, the younger brother of Sacramento Kings lottery pick Marvin Bagley.

37. Wilson (Washington, D.C.)
The Tigers have extremely lofty expectations after finishing last season as the DCSAA state champions. Wilson returns Boston College commit Jay Heath Jr. and 4-star 2020 guard Dimingus Stevens and adds two huge additions of 2019 Maryland commits, Makhel Mitchell and Makhi Mitchell. A trip to the City of Palms Classic will help define this squad in December.

38. Memphis East (Memphis, Tenn.)
The post Penny Hardaway era begins after the former head coach left for the University of Memphis. The three time defending TSSAA Class AAA state champions will be favorites to capture their fourth in a row behind James Wiseman, the top overall senior prospect according to 247Sports.

39. Long Island Lutheran (Brookville, N.Y.)
The Crusaders look to rebound from a crushing loss in last season's New York Federal AA state title game. In a tie game with the ball and just 8.3 seconds left they called a timeout and were given a technical foul after it was ruled they were out of timeouts. It was later proved that the Crusaders had one timeout left and the officials made a costly error. This season, Long Island Lutheran looks to build on last year's stellar 22-3 campaign.

40. Scott County (Georgetown, Ky.)
The Cardinals return four starters from last season's Kentucky Sweet 16 runner-ups, led by their talented undersized power forward Michael Moreno. The three-time All-State selection has over 2,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds and will be hungry to add a state championship to his legendary resume.

41. Nicolet (Glendale, Wis.)
The Knights are led by a talented group of transfers in 2018-19, headlined by 5-star 2020 forward Jalen Johnson. Johnson joins Jamari Sibley in the frontcourt to form the most powerful one-two punches in the state of Wisconsin. Look for Nicolet to be serious contenders to capture their first ever WIAA Division 2 state crown.

42. Archbishop Stepinac (White Plains, N.Y.)
The defending New York Federation Class AA tournament of champions winner return three starters from last season and are strong candidates to repeat. Powered by their elite guard play, high-major guard duo of 2021 Adrian Griffin Jr. and 2020 R.J. Davis will be crucial to the Crusaders success in 2018-19.

43. Huntington St. Joseph Prep (Huntington, W. Va.)
The Irish look to return to national prominence this season, returning West Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year Jaemyn Brakefield to lead the charge. Alongside Brakefield, the Irish boast elite 2020 transfer A.J. Hoggard, 2019 Virginia Tech commit Andre Gordon and 2019 Louisville commit Quinn Slazinski.

44. Warren Central (Indianapolis)
The Warriors finished last season unblemished at 32-0 mark and with an IHSAA 4A state championship, ending the year ranked No. 14 in the nation. Three starters return and Warren Central appears to have all the pieces in place to make a run at a repeat in the state of Indiana's toughest qualification.

45. Oak Ridge (Orlando, Fla.)
The Pioneers won the FHSAA 9A state title and finished the year ranked No. 14. Despite losing their top two scorers from last season, Oak Ridge landed 4-star 2019 forward C.J. Walker to guide the ship alongside their top returning scorer Niven Glover.

46. Whitney Young (Chicago)
The Dolphins went further than expected last season, upsetting heavy favorites Simeon in the IHSA 4A state quarterfinals before falling in the title game to Belleville West. Elite junior guards Tyler Beard and impact transfer DJ Steward will lead them.

47. Holy Spirit Prep (Atlanta)
The two-time defending GISA AAA state champions are overwhelming favorites to capture their third straight state title behind top-5 2020 prospect Anthony Edwards. The Sophomore MaxPreps All-American honorable mention selection had a monster summer, capturing the Under Armour Association MVP and pushing for the No. 1 spot in the junior class.

48. Cox Mill (Concord, N.C.)
The two-time defending NCHSAA 3A state champions return four of their top five scorers from last season, including their 5-star 2019 Duke commit Wendell Moore. The Blue Devils commit earned Junior MaxPreps second team All-American honors last season and will be the top player in the Tar Heel State in 2018-19.

49. Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic (Drexel Hill, Pa.)
The Friars fell just short of winning the Philadelphia Catholic League title last season, losing to Roman Catholic on a last second shot. This year, the Cahillites and Friars will again be favorites to meet in the Philadelphia Catholic League title tilt, returning five of their top six scorers from last year.

50. SPIRE Institute (Geneva, Ohio)
The addition of LaMelo Ball makes this a team to watch. In addition to Ball, Spire landed a number of high-major transfers with a challenging national schedule to boot. 2019 Michigan State commit Mark "Rocket" Watts and 2017-18 MaxPreps Sophomore All-American honorable mention selection Isaiah Jackson will guide the team in their inaugural season. 51. Bella Vista College Preparatory School (Scottsdale, Ariz.)
The Bears begin the season ranked in the top 50 entering just their second season in program history. An experienced group will feature nine seniors, including core contributors 2020 Addison Patterson, 2019 Emmanuel Tshimanga and 2019 Arizona commit Terry Armstrong. Look for this uber-talented group to make some noise on the Grind Session circuit this season.

52. Bearden (Knoxville, Tenn.)
The Bulldogs advanced to the TSSAA Division I Class AAA semifinals  with a 37-2 record before losing to the eventual champion Memphis East by 10. This year, look for Bearden to be serious contenders for the state title behind an experienced group that returns seven key contributors.

53. St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.)
The Braves return all five starters from last season, and appear to be serious challengers to Mater Dei's Trinity League supremacy and the CIF Open Division state title. According to Ronnie Flores of Ballislife, Mater Dei hasn't lost the Trinity League crown since 1987-88. Will this be the year Bosco ends the Monarchs 30 year run?

54. St. Edward (Lakewood, Ohio)
The Eagles begin the season as early favorites to capture their first OHSAA DI state championship since 2013-14. They'll rely heavily on 2020 guard Grant Huffman to step up as their go to scorer this year, with Huffman missing much of last season due to injury. With a wide open field in the OHSAA this season, expect a heated race for the DI state title.

55. Memorial (Tulsa, Okla.)
The Chargers have captured back-to-back OSSAA 5A state titles, going 52-5 over that span. Last season's OSSAA 5A state tournament Co-MVPs will be back in full force for their senior year as twin Oklahoma State commits Kalib Boone and Keylan Boone will return hungry for their third consecutive state crown.

56. Bergen Catholic (Oradell, N.J.)
The Crusaders will be led by their star big man, 2019 Xavier commit Zachary Freemantle in the question to capture their first New Jersey tournament of champions title. The Xavier pledge blew up this summer on the AAU circuit and will be surrounded by a strong supporting cast for the Garden State dark horse.

57. Pinnacle (Phoenix)
The Pioneers return 85 percent of its scoring from last season's AIA 6A state champions. A talented group led by 2019 5-star Arizona commit Nico Mannion and 2019 5-star football star Spencer Rattler (committed to Oklahoma football) will lose just one key contributor from last year.

58. Pickerington Central (Pickerington, Ohio)
Despite losing their star point guard, 2019 North Carolina commit Jeremiah Francis, for the second consecutive season due to injury, the Tigers have all the pieces to compete for a OHSAA Division I state title. They lost in the state semifinals last season, and are projected to be a more complete group this year.

59. Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.)
The Monarchs always seems to find their way into the national rankings behind elite talent and legendary coaching. This season, longtime head coach Gay McKnight will have his work cut out for him as he loses his top four scorers from 2017-18. A talented young core will be led by a pair of elite sophomores — Devin Askew and Wilhelm Breidenbach.

60. Carmel (Ind.)
The Greyhounds fell to undefeated Warren Central in an extremely tightly contested state title game, but return a trio of starters from that squad, including 2019 Butler commit John Michael Mulloy.

61. Immaculate Conception (Montclair, N.J.)
The fourth-ranked team from the Garden State, the Lion have a deep and talented roster that may be one year away from doing major damage on the national scene. The inexperienced group will be led by a trio of talented juniors — Raejon Figures, Elijah Hutchins-Everett and Clifford Omoruyi.

62. St. John's (Washington, D.C.)
Last season, the Cadets fell just short of capturing the DCSAA state title, losing by two in the title showdown with Wilson. The Cadets begin 2018-19 as the third team in the top 100 from the District of Columbia, and the fourth from the WCAC, they will be led by 2019 Virginia commit Casey Morsell and a talented backcourt.

63. Independence (Charlotte, N.C.)
The defending NCHSAA 4A state champions return three of their top four scorers from a 31-1 team last season. Led by Queens College commit Andra' McKee and Murray State commit Matt Smith, the Patriots will be favorites to win their second consecutive state title.

64. La Crosse Central (La Crosse, Wis.)
The Red Raiders fell in the WIAA Division 2 state semifinals last season after taking home the crown in 2015-16. Alongside Nicolet, La Crosse Central will be favorites to capture their second WIAAA state title in three years behind their talented junior trio of Jonathan Davis, Jordan Davis and Terrance Thompson.

65. Simeon (Chicago)
After losing a number of key pieces from last season, the Wolverines will possess a very young team in 2018-19. Despite their youth, elite depth and talent will carry the Wolverines, so look for the Chicago Public League powerhouse to compete with top 50 programs Belleville West and Whitney Young for the IHSA 4A state championship.

66. Silsbee (Texas)
The back-to-back UIL Texas 4A state champions return four starters from their championship run last season. The talented group will again be led by their depth at the guard position and an exciting up-tempo approach that produced 92 or more points in eight of their final eleven contests in 2017-18.

67. Meadowcreek (Norcross, Ga.)
The defending GHSA AAAAAAA state champions may feature an even more talented roster in 2018-19, behind a talented crop of transfers and a few key returners. The experienced group will be led by talented senior guards UAB commit Jalen Benjamin, USF commit Jamir Chaplin and Temple commit Damian Dunn.

68. St. Frances Academy (Baltimore)
The defending Baltimore Catholic League champions are favorites to repeat, returning three starters from a 36-7 team last season. The supporting cast will be key for a talented group that returns their top two scorers from last season in junior leaders Adrian Baldwin and Jordan Toles.

69. Morton Ranch (Katy, Texas)
The Mavericks are tagged as the No. 3 team in the Texas UIL 6A classification according to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches in their pre-season rankings. They return their top four scorers from last season, led by 2020 4-star guard LJ Cryer.

70. Lincoln Academy (Suwanee, Ga.)
Although the Bulldogs will have a very young roster this season, the abundance of high-major talent and senior leadership of Elias King, Dayton commit Moulaye Sissoko and MiKale Stephens will be crucial to their success this season.

71. South Shore (Brooklyn, N.Y.)
The Vikings came up just short of the New York Federation Class AA state title last season, losing to Archbishop Stepinac in the championship tilt. They'll be serious contenders to capture the New York Federation crown again in 2018-19, returning the majority of their core and adding a few pieces set to make an immediate impact.

72. Northwest (Justin, Texas)
The Texans ended their year just one game shy of reaching their goal, falling in their state championship contest. A talented group begins the season as the top ranked team in the Texas UIL 5A classification behind their 2019 Oklahoma State commit Avery Anderson, according to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.

73. Patrick School (Hillside, N.J.)
The Celtics look to continue their return climb to national prominence this season, showcasing a very deep rotation that has a strong chance to make a deep run in the New Jersey tournament of champions title. Spearheaded by 2019 Clemson commit Al-Amir Dawes and depth at the guard position, they'll look to defend baseline to baseline and capture their second tournament of champions title in the last three years.

74. Legacy Charter (Greenville, S.C.)
The Lions return four key contributors from a strong 25-8 campaign, while adding a handful of high-major transfers over the summer. They need to find chemistry early, adding impact transfers of 2019 Mississippi commit Rodney Howard, 2020 Florida State commit Naseem Khaalid and Dearon Tucker.

75. Duncanville (Texas)
Chemistry will be crucial to the Panthers early in the season as a very talented group will be powered by an elite duo of high-major transfers. 2020 4-star wing Micah Peavy and 2019 4-star guard Jahmius Ramsey will look to navigate Duncanville through the rugged Texas UIL 6A state playoffs.

76. Hall (Little Rock, Ark.)
The Warriors appear to be the team to beat in the Diamond State, graduating just two seniors and returning a ton of experience off their state semifinalist team from 2017-18. Strong guard play led by their top returning scorer, senior Gregory Johnson will be the driving force.

77. Hillcrest Prep (Phoenix)
The Hawks weren't the same without the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA draft DeAndre Ayton last year, but still had a strong season, finishing 26-9 on the back of first team MaxPreps Sophomore All-American Kyree Walker. The do-it-all guard will have a much stronger supporting cast in 2018-19, with elite 2020 transfer Dalen Terry set to play a critical role.

78. Trinity (Louisville, Ky.)
The Shamrocks graduated two seniors and lost one key transfer from a very talented team that finished the season 30-4. Guided by the top ranked player in the state, 2019 Louisville commit David Johnson, Trinity appears to be the top threat to take down Scott County in the KHSAA Sweet 16 this season.

79. Olympus (Salt Lake City)
The Titans lost some key pieces from last year's magical 27-0 UHSAA 5A state title run, but return the two biggest impact players. 2019 Utah commit Rylan Jones will create plenty of scoring opportunities for the Titans again this season, while 2019 Jeremy DowDell will provide an elite scoring punch.

80. Lancaster (Texas)
After back-to-back state titles in 2014-15 and 2015-16, the Tigers fell just short last season, losing in the state semifinals by just three points. With a number of key returners this season and a very tough regular season slate, look for this battle tested group to be a very difficult out in their quest for the Texas UIL 5A state title.

81. West Oaks Academy (Orlando, Fla.)
The Flame returns four impact players from a strong team that finished 25-7 last season, including top returning scorers from last season 2019 Auburn commit Tyrell Jones and 4-star 2020 guard Selton Miguel.

82. Prolific Prep Academy (Napa, Calif.)
Prolific Prep will be a major contender to win the Grind Session National Championship this season, behind a bevy of elite transfers and a few key returners. Elite 2020 guards Nimari Burnett and Zach Harvey will be the catalysts for what may be the deepest Prolific Prep teams in their young program history.
83. Goretti (Hagerstown, Md.)
The Gaels graduated two seniors from a very competitive Baltimore Catholic League contender last season. The talented group has a ton of experience in 2018-19 behind their high-major 2019 guard R.J. Blakney. Look for Goretti to again contend for a Baltimore Catholic League title alongside other top 100 foes St. Frances Academy and Mount St. Joseph.

84. New Castle (Ind.)
The Trojans have the deadliest one-two punch in the state of Indiana, as their top two scorers return from a 27-3 team that finished as IHSAA 3A state semifinalists. Their lethal tandem of Ball State commit Luke Bumbalough and Purdue commit Mason Gillis makes them overwhelming favorites to get over the hump and capture the state crown in 2018-19.

85. Morgan Park (Chicago)
The two-time defending IHSA 3A state champions will lose a lot of production from last season, but still has the talent to compete for their third consecutive state crown. Top 30 junior prospect Adam Miller will be expected to take over a much larger role this season.

86. First Love Christian Academy (Washington, Pa.)
The Knights may have its best team in program history this season, and the impressive roster will be guided by a trio of under the radar prospects in D.J. Gordon, J.J. Eubanks and Isaiah Wilson.

87. Christ the King (Middle Village, N.Y.)
The Royals have questions heading into 2018-19 after a huge roster overhaul in the offseason. Despite losing a number of key pieces, they are always a contender to compete for a New York Federation state title. Christ the King will rely heavily on their 5-star 2021 big man Moussa Cisse to improve his scoring production to reach their full potential this season.

88. Little Elm (Texas)
The Lobos may take some lumps early, with three starters transitioning from football season expected to miss some action at the beginning of the year. Powered by first team MaxPreps Sophomore All-American RJ Hampton, look for Little Elm to be a strong contender for the Texas UIL 5A state title.

89. Harvard-Westlake (Studio City, Calif.)
Last season, a group that featured 10 sophomores and freshman and just three upperclassmen had a very strong year, finishing 22-6 and gaining valuable experience. The Wolverines still may be a year away from reaching their full potential, but an ultra-talented group of returners led by elite junior forward Johnny Juzang will look to make some noise one year earlier than most expect.

90. O'Dea (Seattle)
The Irish may be a year or two away from making serious noise on the national stage with a young roster led by three ultra-talented sophomores in 5-star forward Paolo Banchero, John Christofilis and Jermaine Davis. Look for this young group to be a serious contender in a strong Seattle Metro League this season.

91. Archbishop Moeller (Cincinnati)
The defending OHSAA Division I state champions lose a ton of production from last year, however they remain one of the top Ohio teams led by talented 2019 West Virginia commit Miles McBride.

92. Potter's House Christian (Jacksonville, Fla.)
The Lions appear to have a top 100 squad this season, after an extremely busy offseason that included a complete roster overhaul. Large questions loom surrounding the chemistry of this group, but if the Lions jell early they could finish the season as a top 25 contender.

93. Trotwood-Madison (Trotwood, Ohio)
The Rams do not lose much from last season, and will be expected to repeat their success from last and compete for the OHSAA Division II state title. Last year, they fell in the state championship game to finish the year 32-4.

94. John Marshall (Rochester, Minn.)
The Panthers fell one game shy of earning a berth to the MSHSL AAAA state tournament last season, falling to fellow top 100 Gopher State program Lakeville North. Finishing 27-3 last season, they return their first team MaxPreps Junior All-American selection Matthew Hurt hungry to finish off his dominant high school career with a state title.

95. Bishop O'Connell (Arlington, Va.)
The Knights are the fifth team from the WCAC in the preseason top 100 rankings. A solid group of competitors will look to lead the charge for a Bishop O'Connell team aiming for a top four finish in the most competitive conference in high school basketball.

96. Neumann-Goretti (Philadelphia,)
At first glance, the Saints may appear to have lost too much production from last season, with three of their top four scorers lost to graduation. A young core will look to continually evolve throughout the season in 2018-19 as the Saints will be in search of their sixth consecutive PIAA 3A state crown.

97. Minnehaha Academy (Minneapolis)
The back-to-back MSHSL AA state champions will be favorites to capture their third consecutive state crown this season. The Red Hawks have four key contributors returning from last season, including second team MaxPreps Sophomore All-American Jalen Suggs.

98. Chino Hills (Calif.)
While many will be asking what could have been with this team if LaMelo Ball had stuck around for all four years, the defending CIF Division I state champions return a strong core and will be very competitive in 2018-19. Led by 5-star 2019 USC commit Onyeka Okongwu, the Huskies will be a team to watch this season.

99. Upson-Lee (Thomaston, Ga.)
The Knights look to continue what is believed to be the longest winning streak in high school basketball, as the back-to-back AAAA state champions will look to build on their 63 straight wins. If Upson-Lee is able to continue its undefeated run it will be a remarkable accomplishment considering the production they will lose from 2017-18.

100. Lakeville North (Lakeville, Minn.)
The Panthers had a very strong season in 2017-18, taking home a third place finish in the MSHSL AAAA state tournament. Although they lose three starters from last year, expectations will be high to compete for a Minnesota state championship in 2018-19.
