MaxPreps is pleased to announce that the
Edmond North Huskies have officially been named to the 11th Annual MaxPreps Tour of Champions presented by the Army National Guard, which is in its sixth year honoring girls volleyball.
This is one of the most prestigious team awards in all of high school sports and it is an exclusive honor reserved for the top 100 teams nationwide. In order to be eligible, a team must win a state championship and be highly ranked in the MaxPreps National Rankings. For volleyball, only 10 of the country's best are invited and with nearly 20,000 competing varsity teams. This puts the Huskies ahead of 99.9 percent of their opponents!
Edmond North took home the
2015 Oklahoma 6A state title after a huge 3-1 win (25-18, 23-25, 25-19, 25-12) over last season's state champs, Jenks, at the Catoosa Indian Activity Center. The state championship for the Huskies was the first in school history. They were also named the 6A Conference and 6A Regional champions.
With their 32-1 season, the team was not only ranked nationally, but they also finished ranked No. 1 in Class 6A and No. 1 in Oklahoma. On top of that, the Huskies finished 13th in the
MaxPreps Xcellent 25.
These incredible season achievements have earned Edmond North an invitation to the 11th Annual Tour of Champions.
Please join us as we celebrate with the Huskies team, head coach Kimo
Aweau, students and fans on Tuesday, Dec. 8 at 1:30 p.m. during the
school assembly in the gym. For more information about the Tour of Champions, please visit the MaxPreps Tour of Champions
