At the risk of sounding anticlimactic and redundant, Dano Graves of Folsom is the MaxPreps Division II state player of the year.
Graves, who led the Bulldogs to the Division II state championship over Serra (Gardena) has already picked up honors as the MaxPreps National Player of the Year and the MaxPreps Medium Schools Player of the Year. So that made him the obvious choice for California Division II MVP.

Also getting the nod for coach of the year honors is Folsom coach Kris Richardson. After losing the season opener in dreadful fashion to Grant 49-14, the Bulldogs were essentially untouchable the rest of the way. Richardson's crew scored less than 40 points only one time during a 14-game win streak that led to a 14-1 record and the state title. Along the way, the Bulldogs defeated Sac Joaquin Section Division I champion Pleasant Grove 35-20, Grant 41-20 and defending state champion Serra 48-20.
Folsom, Grant and Serra also dominate the Division II all-state team with Folsom and Grant getting four each and Serra landing five players on either the first or second team.
