The postseason has been rough on teams ranked in the MaxPreps Xcellent Top 25 National High School Volleyball Rankings presented by the Army National Guard and this week was no exception as seven teams lost in their state semifinal or final matches. As a result, seven new teams — including unbeaten Princess Ann (Virginia Beach, Va.) — join the Top 25.
Assumption (Louisville, Ky.) and Yorktown (Ind.) remain Nos. 1 and 2 and one will be named the MaxPreps National Champion in next week's rankings.
Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) remained No. 3 after winning California's Open Division championship with a lopsided 3-0 win Saturday over Central (Fresno). The Monarchs are ranked No. 1 by the MaxPreps Computer Rankings with Assumption ranked No. 2 and Yorktown at No. 5.
New to the Top 10 this week are Sterling (Ill.), Ursuline Academy (Cincinnati) and Millard North (Ohama, Ne.).
Previously ranked Northwest (Germantown, Md.) and Lake Orion (Mich.) returned to the Top 25.
Lake Orion won Michigan's large school championship last Saturday and Northwest will play for its fifth-straight Maryland state 4A title on Monday.
In addition to Northwest and Lake Orion, new to the Top 25 this week are Princess Anne, Flower Mound (Texas), Lawrence (Kan.), Edmond Santa Fe (Edmond, Okla.), and West Valley (Yakima, Wash.).

The Rockets won their 21st state title and extended their two-year winning streak to 59. Season over.
2. (2) Yorktown (Ind.), 35-0The Tigers ran their win streak to 35 in winning the 4A state championship. Season over.
3. (3) Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.), 43-2The Monarchs defeated Central (Fresno) to win their first CIF Open Division title. The Monarchs hit .432 in the title match with
Mia Tuaniga and
Natalie Berty recording nine kills each, followed by
Brielle Mullally and
Meg Brown with eight apiece. Tuaniga and Mullally each totaled 16 assists in the win. Season over.
4. (4) Millennium (Goodyear, Ariz.), 45-1The Tigers won the state 5A championship. Season over.
5. (6) Walton (Marietta, Ga.), 41-3The Raiders won their final 16 matches and won the state 7A title, their eighth in nine years. Season over.
6. (7) Lewis-Palmer (Monument, Colo.), 28-1The Rangers captured their third-straight state 4A title. Season over.
7. (8) Immaculate Heart Academy (Washington Township, N.J.), 40-1IMHA defeated North Hunterton, 25-20, 25-21, to win the state Tournament of Champions. It was the Blue Eagles 11th trip to the TOC finals in 12 seasons. Season over.
8. (11) Sterling (Ill.), 41-1The Golden Warriors won the state 3A title. Season over.
9. (12) Ursuline Academy (Cincinnati), 27-2The Lions retained their state large school title. Season over.
10. (13) Millard North (Omaha, Neb.), 38-2 The Mustangs capture the state large school championship. Season over.
11. (14) Marist (Chicago), 39-3The Redhawks won the state 4A title. Season over.
12. (15) Briarcrest Christian (Eads, Tenn.), 40-2Won state A-II title. Season over.
13. (17) Green Hope (Cary, N.C.), 28-1Won state 4A title. Season over.
14. (19) Champlin Park (Champlin, Minn.), 32-2The Rebels won the state Class 3A championship. Season over.
15. (18) Oviedo (Fla.), 28-4The Lions defeated Palm Beach Gardens in straight sets by decisive scores of 25-17, 25-15, 25-10 to win the state 9A championship match. Senior

16. (20) Ankeny Centennial (Ankeny, Iowa), 41-3The Jaguars won their fourth state 5A title in five years. Season over.

Jayna Francis (Virginia pledge) had 20 kills as the Cavaliers defeated North Stafford 3-0 to win the state large school title. Season over.
18. (21) Mt. Carmel (New Orleans), 42-2The Cubs won their fifth state title. Season over.
19. (NR) Lake Orion (Mich.), 68-6Led by
Paige Briggs' 77 kills in their final two matches, the Dragons captured Michigan's D1 state title. Briggs had 47 in a five-set win over previously ranked Mercy (Farmington Hills) in the semifinals, then 30 in a 3-1 win over Rockford in the title match. Season over.
20. (NR) Northwest (Germantown, Md.), 19-1The Jaguars play Urbana (Ijamsville) on Monday in the state 4A title match. Northwest has won 76 of its last 78 matches. Since losing, the Jaguars have won seven straight and lost just one set. They have won four straight state championships.
21. (NR) Flower Mound (Texas), 43-7Led by 6-foot-1 sophomore
Kaylee Cox, Flower Mound won its 17th-straight match and knocked off previously ranked Ridge Point (Missouri City) to win the Texas large school title. Cox was named the tournament's MVP after recording a team-high 18 kills. Season over.
22. (NR) Edmond Santa Fe (Edmond, Okla.), 28-2Senior
Rylen Moore did it all for the Wolves in winning the state large school championship. Season over.
23. (23) Logan-Rogersville (Rogersville, Mo.), 38-2The Wildcats won the state 3A championship. Season over.
24. (NR) Lawrence (Kan.), 38-2Led by nine seniors, Lawrence won the state 6A title. The Lions lost just nine sets in 40 matches, including just one in their final nine victories. Season over.
25. (NR) West Valley (Yakima, Wash.), 23-3The Rams won their final 20 matches to captured the state large school title. Season over.
