When the cheerleaders for
La Salle (St. Ignace, Mich.) step off the bus with their beloved Saints football team, they undoubtedly turn heads like perhaps no other squad in the nation.
Yes, they are an eye-catching group, but not for the reason you probably think. And, it's probably not wise to ask the cheerleaders for a date at halftime, either. The La Salle players probably wouldn't like it much, considering the composition of the squad: the cheerleaders are their moms.
When the small school in northern Michigan, which has only a little more than 200 students, couldn't field a cheerleading squad this season because of a lack of interest, the moms organized to cheer on the sons.
The unit must have given the Saints extra motivation, as they have gone 12-0 and face Fowler on Saturday in the Division 8 state semifinals.

The Saints have a roster of 29 according to their team page on MaxPreps, and every game more than a dozen moms don the away jersey of their sons and take to the sidelines. They also organized a prep rally, as well, complete with makeshift formations.

Nate Montie, who is listed as No. 54 on the team roster and is featured in the video, summed it up best.
"Well, I could ask for a blonde or a brunette, but my mom will do."
