The 3rd Annual MaxPreps Tour of Champions presented by the Army National returns to Don Bosco Prep for a second time!
I made the shortest trip on the Tour of Champions, to Ramsey, NJ about a 40-minute drive from where I live in New Jersey, to honor the Don Bosco Ironmen. The 12-0 Ironmen, were nationally ranked #3 overall out of 16,000 schools and Coach Greg Toal washonored to be considered in the "elite 3."
The Don Bosco gym was packed for a big game against St.Joe's of Montvale. It was standing room only. The Army National Guard welcomed folks as they entered into the gym giving out keychains, t-shirts, I-Podspeakers, and more.
Matt Marinello, the MaxPrep representative, hailing from close by Livingston, NJ; talked about the team's tremendous success in 2007. He noted coach Toal's hardwork, their premier national ranking, and their ability to continually be one of the best teams in the entire country.
Matt introduced Sgt. Ryan from the New Jersey Army National Guard, who presented the trophy to Coach Toal and the Ironman Football as the crowd of 200+ people cheered on. Each player on the team received a commemorative Tour of Champions T-Shirts and sealed their place into Tour of Champions history.
Back next year? I think so!
