Here's a look at developments that shaped this week's rankings:

Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) finished the regular season 10-0 after beating rival Servite 51-7 and heads into the playoffs in what is arguably the toughest postseason bracket of all-time.
JT Daniels finished the night with 346 yards passing and five touchdowns. The 2019 USC commit has thrown for nearly 3,000 yards and 36 touchdowns in 2017.
The CIF Southern Section Division I
playoff bracket was released Sunday and features four teams in the Top 25.
Centennial (Corona),
St. John Bosco (Bellflower), and
Mission Viejo join Mater Dei in the 16-team field.

IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) won its 36th consecutive game, beating defending Alabama 7A state champions Hoover. The Ascenders have one game left on the 2017 schedule and have won every game this season by double-digits.

Ben Davis (Indianapolis) finally played a close game, beating Warren Central 36-29 to advance to the Indiana 6A state quarterfinals. The Giants improved to 11-0 and are three wins away from winning their ninth state title in school history.
