Witten and the Warriors finished with a perfect 14-0 record. The title is the first at the school since 2007. The team accomplished the special feat with a crew that includes Jason's sons, junior
C.J. Witten and freshman
Cooper Witten – two of the squad's top defenders.
Coach Witten is now 26-10 in his career. He joins brother Shawn as a state-title winning coach. Shawn has two state crowns at the brother's alma mater,
Elizabethton (Tenn.).

Regents scored first with a field goal to go up 3-0 but the rest of the game was all Liberty Christian.
Junior running back
Chase Garnett got the Warriors on the board with a 36-yard touchdown run, his 27th of the season.
Liberty Christian sophomore
Jett Haire got the ball back into the hands of his offense by intercepting a pass to halt a Regents drive near midfield.
UConn quarterback pledge
Cole Welliver quickly took advantage and put the Warriors up 14-3 as he found junior
Brady Janusek open for a touchdown.
After a punt by Regents, Welliver again found Janusek in the endzone for the second time to make the score 21-3.
On the next possession, Welliver threw his third touchdown of the game and the 50th of the season as junior
Quinton Brown hauled in the score to put the Warriors up 28-3.
With less than a minute left in the first half Cooper Witten came up with a big catch to set up senior kicker
Michael Stump with a field goal to send the Warriors into halftime with a 31-3 lead.
Stump finished the season a perfect 93 of 93 on extra points this season.
After halftime, Janusek extended the lead to 38-3 after intercepting a Regents pass and returning it 55 yards for a touchdown. A few minutes later Garnett scored his second rushing touchdown to extend the lead to 45-3.
Regents didn't go down without a fight as freshman quarterback
Jack Devine hit sophomore
Kade Millington with 22 seconds left in the third quarter to make the score 45-10.
Liberty Christian scored one more time as Garnett broke loose and ran for his third touchdown of the night, this time from 35 yards away to give the Warriors a 52-10 lead, which became the final.
