The Staples Center in Los Angeles – home to the NBA's Clippers and Lakers – is a frequent host of high school basketball games.

Bellarmine-Jefferson (Burbank) and
San Gabriel Academy (San Gabriel) did just that Wednesday, serving as the opening act at Staples as the Clippers posted a 122-117 win over the Blazers in the evening.
San Gabriel Valley ran away with a 66-33 victory of its own, but the participants who fulfilled their dream of playing on one of basketball's grandest stages were the real winners.
