Arianna Mercado continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for East New York Family Academy, going 7 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 37 points and 8 assists. The contest was Mercado's tenth in a row with at least ten points. Zakiyah Zimmerman was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight steals and six rebounds.
New Utrecht's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for East New York Family Academy, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
New Utrecht will head out on the road to face off against Midwood at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for East New York Family Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brooklyn Tech at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Brooklyn Tech is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
