SKYLINE DEFENSE STUFFS COCOA AT HERBSTREITSkyline (Dallas) had five turnovers and was still never threatened in the second game of the day at Cowboys Stadium, beating Cocoa (Fla.) 36-20. That's how suffocating Skyline's defense was as the Raiders (2-0) won an interstate matchup for the second straight week.
Skyline, which beat Memphis (Tenn.) Ridgeway last week, held Cocoa to only 39 yards rushing on 30 carries. Cocoa (0-2), which had won 38 straight games before losing last week, finished with 223 total yards.
After Cocoa took a 7-0 lead with a 95-yard kickoff return, Skyline took control with its defense, the running of
David Greene (10 carries,119 yards, 2 TDs) and the efficient passing of
Devante Kincade (14 of 17 for 171 yards). Skyline star receivers
Thomas Johnson (Texas commit) and
Tray Rabon (Kansas State) combined for 10 catches for 132 yards.
