Millwood (Oklahoma City) advanced to the Oklahoma Class 2A state championship Friday night after
Jaden Nickens ran a kickoff back for a touchdown as time expired to win 34-29 over Kiefer.
Kiefer scored with 12 seconds left to take a 29-28 lead. Nickens, who committed to Oklahoma in August, fielded the ensuing kickoff at the 23-yard line and zoomed to the right side of the field before blazing down the sideline for the win.
The victory sets up a game against Washington in a state title rematch which Millwood lost 17-14.
Nickens is regarded as a four-star, top 100 prospect in the Class of 2025 by
247Sports.
Listed at 6-foot-3, 190 pounds, Nickens already has two state championships with the
Millwood (Oklahoma City) basketball team. The small forward has basketball offers from Auburn, Oklahoma State and Ole Miss.
