Capturing the hogs become a top priority for
Liberty (Texas), so they hired Deep South Trapping to get rid of the unwelcome swine.
Steve Horelica of Deep South Trapping told MaxPreps that they captured seven hogs, ranging in weight from 40 to 90 pounds. Had the hogs remained on the loose, they could have caused major damage to Liberty's field, according to Horelica, who said that the green grass, which was well-maintained, was very inviting to the hogs.
Capturing hogs is no easy task, according to Horelica.
"Despite popular belief, hogs are some of the smartest creatures on earth," he told MaxPreps. "They learn and adapt very quickly."
The hog removal effort came just in time. Liberty opened its season with a home game Friday night.
