The Knightdale Knights were the 48-44 winner over the Franklinton Rams when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Knightdale received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 55-41 to Franklinton.
Knightdale's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andrea Watkins, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Ayomide Adewumi, who scored 7 points along with 4 blocks.
Franklinton was led to victory by Asia Burton and Mikayla Taborn. Burton scored 18 points, while Taborn scored 19 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Burton has scored at least 25% of Franklinton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dakota Privette, who scored 5 points.
Knightdale's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Franklinton, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Knightdale will take on Southeast Raleigh at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Southeast Raleigh is ranked 87th, while Knightdale is ranked 91st). As for Franklinton, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Granville Central at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th.
