The Rushville Lions struggled with assists on Saturday (the Indianapolis Bishop Chatard Trojans had 800% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Rushville was the victim of a tough 63-37 loss at the hands of Indianapolis Bishop Chatard.
Leonie Boyer and Gracie Buzzard certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Boyer scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds, while Buzzard scored 10 points along with 5 rebounds. Buzzard scored a full 27% of Rushville's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Indianapolis Bishop Chatard's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alyx Kendall, who scored 11 points along with 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Berzai, who scored 12 points along with 3 steals.
Rushville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Indianapolis Bishop Chatard, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rushville will face off against Whiteland at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Indianapolis Bishop Chatard, they will head out on the road to face off against Heritage Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Heritage Christian is ranked 149th, while Indianapolis Bishop Chatard is ranked 135th).
