La Salle Academy captured 14 state championships in 2025-26 to up its total to 372 — still nearly 200 behind Punahou.
Thanks to a state crown in girls tennis last year, Punahou became the first school to have 50 titles or more in four different sports. The Buff 'n Blue have 58 titles
in girls swimming, 53 in boys tennis, 51 in boys swimming and now 50 in
girls tennis. If the Honolulu school only fielded those four sports, it
would still rank 13th on the list of most all-time state championships
with 212.
Carmel (Ind.), the MaxPreps Cup champion in 2025-26,
moved up from No. 19 last year to No. 17 this year after winning eight
state championships.
