Video: 2015 season
See Miles Reed in action last seasonEvery now and again, an action-packed Hollywood movie will slow the reel down at the height of the drama showing the film's hero taking his long walk toward glory. The audience gets caught up in the moment waiting for the action to pick back up, knowing something amazing is about to happen.
This analogy is what it has been like waiting for
Miles Reed to get his chance to be the premier tailback at
Centennial (Corona, Calif.).
Reed showed out when called upon in 2015, rushing for 540 yards on 91 carries with nine trips to the end zone. The squad will feed the tailback position, as it helped Arizona Wildcats Class of 2016 commitment J.J. Taylor to a 2,100-yard season along with 41 touchdowns a year ago.
Centennial was one of the best teams in the nation last year, running its record to 14-1 before a hard-fought 28-21 loss to De La Salle for California's Open Division state title. The Huskies are loaded with arguably as much talent on the roster as they had in 2015, giving head coach Matt Logan and company a potential national championship team on their hands.
Next-level recruiters are very interested in what Reed will be able to do with the rock in his hands for a full season, especially against the top-level talent he will face. The 5-foot-8, 185-pound, all-purpose back has three offers with Hawaii, Kentucky Christian and Lake Erie hoping to get a steal in Reed. Reed's list of potential suitors is spread across the country and includes USC, UCLA, Utah, Arizona, Cal and Nebraska.
