Tony Wroten can play basketball at Garfield — for now.
Wroten, a 6-foot-5 point guard who is the top sophomore in the nation according to ESPN, won a temporary injunction against his Seattle school.
He is allowed to go to school and play basketball while the family pursues a lawsuit against the Seattle School District. A hearing date is scheduled for Jan. 21.
Garfield expelled Wroten claiming that surveillance showed that he lived in Renton and not Seattle.
Wroten has been out of school since Dec. 5 and hasn't played a game for the Bulldogs.
Football: Heaps Named State Player of the Year
Jake Heaps has been perfect on the football field, and the rest of the state recognized him for it.
Heaps was named the Associated Press player of the year, voted upon by media across the state.
Heaps hasn't lost a game at Skyline (28-0), guiding the Spartans to state titles the last two seasons. He passed for 2,888 yards, 38 touchdowns and only four interceptions this fall.

Football: Coleman Dumps UW for Cal
Garfield's All-State defensive tackle Deandre Coleman verbally committed to California.
Coleman, a 6-foot-4, 285-pounder, had committed to Washington in August. He is considered the top senior in the state and has been invited to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio next month.
ALSO: Kentwood's All-State center Hunter Blackmore (6-2, 260) committed to play for Army.
Basketball: Ferris Win Streak Ends
The Ferris Saxons' winning streak lasted two years and two state titles.
But with a talented senior class gone (Ferris has five sophomores and a freshman on varsity this season), so is the losing streak.
Shadle Park ended Ferris' streak at 59 with a 66-59 win on Dec. 13.
Volleyball: Monroe's Munoz Wins Gatorade Award
Monroe's Kylin Munoz won the Gatorade State Player of the Year Award.
A 6-foot-1 outside hitter, she had 569 kills and .437 hitting percentage for the Bearcats, who qualified for state for fourth straight year.
