Video: Orion Smith's highlights vs. Klein Collins
See the DeSoto linebacker in action.
The Woodlands has long been a baseball powerhouse in Texas, and now it has a chance to win a state title in football as it moves up to No. 4 in the MaxPreps southwest region football computer rankings.
The Woodlands knocked off Allen in the Class 6A-I semifinals and will play Lake Travis in the championship game this week. A win over Lake Travis, and a loss by DeSoto to Steele (Cibolo) in the Class 6A-II playoffs, could put The Woodlands at No. 1 next week.
The regional rankings are based on the MaxPreps National Football Computer Rankings, presented by the Army National Guard. The Southwest region includes teams from Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arizona.
