MaxPreps Game of the Week: No. 24 Don Bosco Prep looks for championship game revenge against St. Joseph Regional

Points will be at a premium as both teams have stars on the defensive side of the ball in Notre Dame commit Aidan O'Neil, Texas A&M pledge Mikahi Allen and Washington commit Chaz Gray.

The MaxPreps Game of the Week will see New Jersey rivals get re-acquainted as Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey) gets a shot at revenge Friday against St. Joseph Regional (Montvale) in a rematch of last year's Non-Public A championship game.

The powerhouse programs split two meetings in 2025 with Don Bosco Prep winning 17-14 during the regular season and St. Joseph Regional turning the tables with a 24-21 victory in the state final.

Don Bosco Prep (4-0) is the state's top-ranked team after outscoring its first four opponents 153-37. The Ironmen are coming off a 35-9 win over Paramus Catholic (Paramus) behind junior running back Ca'si Thomas, who rushed for 120 yards and three touchdowns.

The defense features Notre Dame commit Aidan O'Neil and Texas A&M commit Mikahi Allen, who has recorded 23 tackles and 5.5 sacks. Junior quarterback Carson Schoen has completed 71.4 percent of his passes for 648 yards and five touchdowns while Rutgers commit Isaiah Alvarez has 22 receptions for 347 yards and three scores.

St. Joseph Regional has rebounded from an 0-2 start with consecutive wins over Delbarton (Morristown) and DePaul Catholic (Wayne). The Green Knights rolled to a 42-7 victory over DePaul Catholic behind a defense featuring Washington commit Chaz Gray, Pittsburgh commit Cameron Aime and four-star junior Tahj Gray, who returned an interception for a touchdown. Junior defensive back Sean Guy also had a pick-six in last week's win.
