We've stopped for today at Notre Dame University, home of the Fighting Irish and a good buddy who I like to call the Gipper or Gip for short, it's a long story. We walked around campus went and saw all the sights of the school. I recognized a lot of the building and scenery from watching Rudy, which is a sacred movie around here. The students who attend NDU are obsessed with their team and we had some lively conversations with some of the Gipper's roommates about football, until Chris started talking about his girl problems and things rapidly fell apart. We also got to see the famous process of the helmets being painted, with real gold in the paint, in preparation for this week's game. In the end, we had a great time and my buddy the Gip even bought us some Notre Dame gear from the student store as Chris quickly forgot about his sworn allegiance to USC.
As for right now, I'm settled in on Gip's dorm room couch and it's time to get some sleep. The only problem with tomorrow is that we still do not know what game we will be featuring. But after a few phone calls in the morning we will be on our way to somewhere in Illinois were will undoubtedly feature two teams and another great playoff matchup. A big thanks to my family in Detroit and the Gip for taking care of us these last few days, Chris and I have not been home in a long time and it feels good to have such awesome friends on this side of the country. You guys are the best!
