The Banning Lewis Academy Stallions put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They blew past Colorado Springs Christian 48-0 at home. The result was nothing new for Banning Lewis Academy, who have now won six contests by 28 points or more so far this season.
Chase Riehle was on fire: he rushed for 172 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Bjegovich, who rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries.
Banning Lewis Academy's victory was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-7 Rocky Ford and 1-8 Ellicott (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 30.8% over those games). As for Colorado Springs Christian, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-2.
Banning Lewis Academy will head out on the road to face off against Rye at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams might be coming in a bit winded given how much these teams ran in their prior games. As for Colorado Springs Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ellicott at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
