Shore - Central B recap Oct. 3, 2012
Point Pleasant Beach extended the longest winning streak in Shore - Central B this week by beating Mater Dei, 42-12. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Keansburg moved up to 258 from 303 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 42-28 win over Dunellen helped the Titans improve their standing.
Shore Regional's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Matt Muh threw for 42 and one touchdown and Kevin Masica had 33 yards receiving. On the ground Mark Costantino chipped in 133 yards. Tyler Vivian helped Shore Regional's passing attack out by catching one ball for nine yards.
6-foot-5 quarterback Muh of the Blue Devils is the league leader in passing yards this season with 166. He has also thrown two touchdowns. On the ground, Asbury Park's Shaheim Tillman has rushed for 253 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Daquane Bland-Bennett. The Asbury Park star has three catches for 103 yards.
A big matchup in Shore - Central B this week will be when Point Pleasant Beach takes on the Bishops. As it stands, John Wagner's team is in first, while Asbury Park is in fifth.
Shore Regional took down South River 45-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Costantino in the win.
