Even if things were shuffled around here and there, the power rankings for this week won't seem too unfamiliar if you've been following along. Don't let that fool you into thinking nothing interesting happened, though. A special shoutout goes to Sussex Central's senior Isaac Barnes, who scored five total touchdowns in the team's most recent match.
Can't Touch This
Dover got a 41 - 2 win over Caesar Rodney last week, and a key reason for the win was junior Javon Peace. Peace earned five touchdowns and 340 yards rushing the ball. In fact, our algorithms singled out Peace as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between Hodgson Vo-Tech (1st in the power rankings) and Middletown (2nd). Even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Hodgson Vo-Tech beat Middletown 14 - 7. Hodgson Vo-Tech found its leader in an underclassman: Bobby Arnold rushed for 99 yards and one touchdown, which was enough to make him one of the team's best players.
No Stoppin 'Em
The Archmere Academy offense has been a force to be reckoned with this season, and last week was no different. It picked up a decisive 'W' against First State Military Academy, finishing up at 54 - 13. One star in particular for Archmere Academy was junior Roo Conaty, who ran for 73 yards and also punched in two touchdowns. The combined 67 points was the most of any game featuring a power-ranked team.
