Thanks to a 6-0 start this season (yes, the Warriors already have six official games in the books), Smith's career win total is up to 1,033.
Oak Hill Academy has been recognized as the national champion by at least one media outlet 10 times.
The Warriors have finished ranked in the top five nationally 25 of the last 29 years and are 210-12 over the past five seasons (.945 winning percentage).
Early returns in 2016-17 suggest that the wins will continue to accumulate in a big way.
The Virginia juggernaut has won its first six contests by an average margin of 33.1 points per game.
OHA's first big test came Saturday at the Phenom Hoops National Showcase, a 74-63 win over Word of God Christian Academy (Raleigh, N.C.).
Transfer forward
Billy Preston – a Top 10 prospect being recruited by Indiana, Kansas and Syracuse – responded with 28 points and 15 rebounds for the Warriors.
That was good news for Smith because he already knew the backcourt was in good hands with four returners all capable of going big in the scoring column.
As always, Oak Hill Academy will play one of the nation's most expansive and challenging schedules. This year's slate will include 50 regular season games against teams from at least 12 different states and Canada.

The same two teams met in the final of last season's Bass Pro Shops Tournament of Champions with the Warriors winning on a dramatic buzzer beater.

Forward Bill Preston is a Top 10 prospect in the Class of 2017.
