National player of the year candidates
Bradley Beal,
Michael Gilchrist and
Austin Rivers highlighted a group of 24 high school seniors selected Thursday afternoon to participate in the 2011 McDonald's All-American Game.
The event will take place Wednesday, March 30 at the United Center in Chicago. The boys game will be broadcast on ESPN and tip at 9 p.m. CT. The girls contest will be aired on ESPNU at 6:30 p.m.
Gilchrist, a 6-foot-7 forward headed to Kentucky, is the top-rated senior in America according to MaxPreps.com. His
St. Patrick (Elizabeth, N.J.) Celtics are ranked No. 1 in this week's Xcellent 25.

Rivers, a 6-4 shooting guard at
Winter Park (Fla.), is pouring in 29.6 point per game this season and signed with Duke in November.
Beal, also a 6-4 shooting guard, is averaging over 30 points per game for No. 13
Chaminade (St. Louis, Mo.). The Florida signee is No. 5 on MaxPreps' 2011 Top 100.
