Archbishop Spalding (Severn, Md.) beat Apollo (Ariz.), 62-37, in the Gray Division Championship of the Nike Tour of Champions in Phoenix on Thursday.
"We took on a very tough out-of-conference schedule and are pleased with the 9-2 results with wins over Riverdale, Holy Cross, Bishop Ford and a Nike TOC Championship," Spalding coach Bill Rosemond said.
"We are game tested and very confident that we will improve on our 3-0 conference record. We have two more championship goals in mind — the IAAM (Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland conference) and the Bishop Walsh Invitational. We are driven to improve upon our 25th spot in the National Rankings."
